Let’s Talk About Dying!

Talking about the end of life can be very emotional, both for the person who is nearing the end of their life and for their friends and family. The benefits of talking about this include: feeling in control, having the relief of knowing that your wishes have been documented and that relatives will know what you want and won't have to worry about getting it wrong.

There are many things that can be considered when talking about end of life planning such as; where you may want to be cared for in your final days i.e. at home with family or in hospital, whether you may or may not want to have resuscitation attempted. These are all things we can help you with at the surgery.

A document called a TEP form can be completed documenting your wishes to help guide medical personnel when the time comes. If you or you are a lasting power of attorney for health and welfare for a loved one would like to discuss how we may be able to help you please contact the surgery and ask to talk to someone about this.
